Interior Designers from the British Institute of Interior Designers were shown around the workshops explaining everything from the raw materials and how to use them to finished items and the techniques to make them.
After a lovely buffet lunch provided by Clare the designers were treated to a veneering demonstration both traditional and by modern vacuum press followed by a gilding demonstration by Doug McLeod who went through the history of gilding followed by a demonstration where the designers each had a chance to try burnishing the gold leaf.
